Energy Conservation Audit focuses on educating students to become responsible energy users by having them conduct an energy audit at school and at home. Students analyse the long-term impacts of energy and resource use on society and the environment and suggest ways to reduce these impacts.
Students will:
participate in a "Wasting or Conserving" guessing game
conduct an energy audit at their school and one of their home
create an energy savings plan to conserve the amount of energy that is being used based on their findings at school and at home.
create posters that advocate and make others aware of the importance of conserving energy
read as a class the case study "Insulating Your House and Setback Thermostats" to learn more about conserving energy.
